Travel has never been more documented—or more dependent on our phones. We use them to navigate, find where to eat, translate, plan, photograph and save nearly every part of a trip.

Rova was created as an alternative: a more intentional way to experience a place while you're in it, and a more meaningful way to remember it afterward.

A more analog way to travel.

Not every moment needs to happen through a screen.

Rova puts the things travelers actually want at their fingertips—from simple maps and essential phrases to local etiquette, food and cultural context—so there's a little less reason to reach for your phone and a little more reason to look up.

The travel journal was overdue for a redesign.

The journal we wanted didn't exist.

We found blank notebooks with destinations printed on the cover and traditional guidebooks packed with more information than we wanted to carry. Nothing brought together the things we actually wanted while traveling.

So we made something in between.

A quick map. The words you'll actually need. What to eat. What to know. The cultural details that help you understand where you are. Guided prompts when you don't know what to write. Blank space when you do.

A blank journal can be intimidating. You open to the first page and suddenly you're wondering what you're supposed to write—or worried about ruining it before you've even started.

Rova is designed to get you past the blank page.

Guided prompts give you somewhere to begin. Draw what's in front of you. Write down something you don't want to forget. Save the receipt. Scribble in the margins. Get something wrong. Leave a page unfinished.

There are blank pages, too. But nothing is precious.

It's meant to be written in, drawn in, carried around, and made imperfect. By the end of the trip, it should look like yours.
